Notice from the City of Algoma:  June 24, 2016

Please be advised that the Algoma Marina remains closed until further notice.  In there early morning hours of June 23, several vessels caught fire and it is unknown at this time how long the clean-up and investigation will last.  We are sorry for any inconvenience.

There is a launch ramp just north of town on the river at Olson Park on Highway 42 that can accommodate very small boats. Larger boats can launch in nearby Kewaunee, right on Highway 42 just 10 miles south of Algoma.

Algoma Marina seasonal launch pass holders may launch at no charge at the Kewaunee Marina until our marina re-opens.  Please have your 2016 launch pass visible prior to launching.  Thank you to the City of Kewaunee for extending this courtesy to our boaters.

Visitor Information Center

Located on Hwy 42 (Lake Street) and overlooking Lake Michigan, the Algoma Visitor Center is built on a public park. This award winning structure was built by the Chamber with all volunteer labor. The Visitor Center is staffed year round by a group of volunteers from around the community – many are lifelong residents. They provide information to visitors on attractions, accommodations, fishing, things to see and do, and how to get there. Open daily from May through October from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the off season, the VIC is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop in for brochures from individual businesses, menus from area restaurants, information for new residents and a great view from the wrap around deck. 920-487-2041
